Exchanging items with out-of-box defects at Apple Store Japan

I just received an M3 MacBook Air ordered online from Apple and noticed a nick in the edge of the casing above the MagSafe port. It’s slight but noticeable enough that it stops my finger when running my nail over it.

It’s not much, but after spending 165,000 yen on a laptop, it shouldn’t have nicks out of the box. Can you share your experiences exchanging items at Apple Stores in Japan? I’m worried because I activated AppleCare+ before noticing it.
