My sister and I are staying in Tokyo in mid-July for about six nights. Initially, we both agreed on Shibuya since we are visiting Japan for the purpose of shopping (anime/stationary/clothes literally for anything), and most of what we want to see and visit is in Shibuya. But since money is tight right now, I suggested that it wouldn’t hurt to stay at cheaper and nicer hotels in Shinjuku, Minato City, Taito City (Asakusa), or Akihabara and plan day trips to Shibuya by taking the train.

So my question is: which ward should we stay in if we are going to Japan for the purpose of shopping? A place that is colorful and suited for anime and J-pop geeks like us, a place that is very women-friendly and suited for fashion lovers like us, and lastly, a place that has train lines that can easily connect us to other wards, specifically Shibuya. Or.. should I pay the extra fees and stay in Shibuya to avoid wasting time on trains?
