Can someone help regarding transport advice in Japan?

So we booked our Airbnb in Higashihiraga, Matsudo for the ‘Tokyo’ Area cuz it was the cheapest. We don’t mind the 1hr travel to Tokyo central.

Now I’ve been reading about the travelling how there’s the 24, 48, 72hr Tokyo Metro passes, Unli mixed daily pass(?), JR passes (regional or whole) and of course the Suica/Pasmo cards which are pay as u go.

I’m trying to plan what the most cost efficient would be because as I’m googling our route from Higashihiraga, Matsudo to Shibuya as an example, the lines are JR Joban Line, JR Yamanote, JR Shonan (7am). So these are all JR trains, does it mean we should book a JR regional pass? And supplement the rest (some in the afternoon and evening routes aren’t JR lines) using suica/pasmo?.

4 days- Tokyo
3 days – Takayama/Shirakawago
4 days- Osaka/kyoto/nara

Our first 3-4 days in Tokyo are basically:
– Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Shibuya
– Shinjuku, Harajuku
– Asakusa, Ueno

Is it worth buying JR passes/metro passed for this itinerary or what? What would be your suggestion?

We are planning on driving to Takayama from Tokyo also. So we won’t be using the ‘pass’ if we do get one for at least 3 days so I thought it’d be a waste.
