Out of curiosity – what’s your main card this year, and why?
I know this comes down to personal preference and finances, but card offers are always changing.
For me, it was for a long time the Rakuten Premium card but after the recent nerfs and increases in foreign currency fees, I’ll downgrade that to the normal one at the next yearly cycle. Thinking which one to use as my main card instead, and if I want to upgrade one to gold tier.
SMBC Platinum Preferred card looks to be the best package in general.
ANA Gold Amex or ANA Wide Gold (if you’re into ANA miles like me) sound good too.
AMEX Gold is a nice card too (and finally also in metal since the recent refresh), but point % looks to be the same as all the other ones (basically 1%). Recently changed my mind on the AMEX cards after using the normal ANA AMEX for a bit, it just always works, and never had any issues.
