Itinerary Help!

Hello!!

My parents and I and my partner are going on a trip to Japan in early July (July 1 – 11). It will be my parents’ first time in Japan but not for my partner and I so I’ve been doing research and trying to find stuff that we could all enjoy! My parents are still young at heart so they don’t mind doing a lot of walking as long as they get some rest in between a long distance. I’ve come up with the following itinerary for our trip, and I would really appreciate any tips, advice, comments, etc.

We would love recommendations on food in each area! We’re all big foodies and I haven’t been back to Japan in half a decade so would love to see what others’ favorites are! We would love to try regional specialties, something that brings us out of our comfort zones! Especially if there are events! We know it will be Gion Matsuri and Tanabata when we arrive!

Also! We love nature as well so if anyone has any hidden gems on nature spots to visit <33

Keep in mind this is pretty bare bones and I’m trying to see if my itinerary looks possible and if anyone has any day trip suggestions, not looking for ideas for places to visit in between each location!

# Day 1 (7/1)

Flying into Narita (Check into Hotel and explore East Tokyo)

Planning to book a hotel/airbnb in Taito City/Asakusa/Ueno Area since my partner and I liked the area!

We plan to visit the Senso-ji and Ameyokocho and Tokyo Sky Tree

# Day 2 (7/2) (Central Tokyo)

Planning to visit Harajuku, Omotesando, Shibuya (i already have an idea where to go)

# Day 3 (7/3) (Western Tokyo)

Planning to visit Tsukiji Fish Market, Ginza, Shinjuku, Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho

# Day 4 (7/4) (Planning a Day Trip)

For this day, I was thinking about planning a day trip up to Kamakura or Nikko (if anyone has any recommendations or other places to visit from Tokyo!)

Planning to forward luggage to Kyoto while we keep a day’s worth of clothes and essentials)

# Day 5 (7/5) (Hakone or Yamanashi?)

Planning on taking parents here since they wanted to see Mt. Fuji and hot springs!

# Day 6 (7/6) (Kyoto)

Gion (basically the main Kyoto area, renting kimonos as well! my parents love to match :’))

Also, my parents would like to stay in a ryokan in Kyoto (they like the traditional feel of it, so if anyone has any recommendations that don’t break our banks T\_T)

# Day 7 (7/7) (Kyoto)

Planning this to be the Arashiyama area!

# Day 8 (7/8) (Nara or Uji and Osaka later in the day!)

We can’t see ourselves in Nara/Uji the whole day other than Todai-ji and the Deer Park but plan to be in Osaka for the majority of the day before going back to Kyoto

# Day 9 (7/9) (Day Trip to Miyajima/Hiroshima?)

I’m not sure, I saw the floating tori gates and got interested so open to other places/hidden gems to visit!

# Day 10 (7/10) (Day Trip (unsure where) -> Tokyo at night)

If there are any places people recommend, we could even leave Kyoto area and just stay somewhere on the way back to Tokyo!

Day 11 (7/11) (Tokyo)

Fly back home (NRT) (our flight is also late at night like 9:30 pm I believe so we’re not that rushed on time taking the train to NRT airport from Tokyo!)
