I will most likely move to Japan next year and plan to stay for quite a while, likely for good (will be able to apply for PR after one year via the highly skilled professional route). I wondered if there is a way to make use of the weak yen while it is still weak as I am currently living in Germany and exchanging some Euro to Yen sounds pretty sweet. I’m not talking about a fortune, but something between 5000-10000 Euro or so. I used to live there before but don’t have an active bank account anymore, so I’m not sure what would be the best way to get the money into Japan. Maybe simply getting Yen in cash here and once I’m there paying it into the bank? Not sure if I am comfortable with carrying so much cash, so any other ideas? Thanks!
