Overwork 14h per day with little notice

Hi everyone, I’ll briefly explain my situation. I currently work in a company which is sponsoring my visa and I am in the middle of the renewal procedure (one month left on the residence card…). Even though on my contract it is written that the working hours will be notified the month before, I have received the previous and current week’s schedule only a few days before (for example I received this week schedule last Friday). I have been working without any rest day since last Thursday, and I will be working until this Saturday (3/16). Today (3/13) I received a notice telling me to work (not asking, telling) not 8 hours on Saturday 16th but around 14 hours. I immediately wrote my employer complaining about this and telling them I will not do that and I am waiting for an answer, but I was also wondering if it is legal for them to ask me to work that much and with this little notice. I am really thinking about quitting the job since these work conditions are limit to extreme for me, but I still have the problem of the visa renewal which I fear will not be made in time if I quit now, but both my body and my mind cannot take it anymore. Any suggetions?
