Quick question about rules regarding time for construction projects. We’ve had a big construction project in front of our manshon for about six months. They are late and over their planned finish date, so are working later each day (carrying on past 19:00). A couple of weeks ago they worked all night.
I went over to talk to them today and the guy I talked to (not the boss, who had already left for the day) said that there are no rules regarding what time they can work because it is private property.
Is this correct? I was under the impression that construction should only happen during ‘business’ hours ie 8-18 or so.
UPDATE: thanks for the info. I got a nice phone call from the site manager this morning, who explained that they plan to work 8-18 but yesterday went over because they are doing asphalt and the materials arrived late.
He also explained the all-night thing a few weeks ago was an exception and they had permission from the police and the city.
They are not planning any more late work, so I think we’re all good and I feel better. It was a pleasant conversation.
