Uber Eats – Tips for starting?

Hello everyone,

Forgive me if Im posting this redundantly or in the wrong place, tried to look at the wiki and other subs before.

Anyways, im considering starting uber eats as a job for a bit and i’m wondering what some important things to know are. if anyone has done ubereats before and has any useful info, dos/donts, tips, warnings, etc. that would be very much appreciated!

here’s a few questions im wondering about as well:

\- do i need a nice bicycle? (i know i’ll want a decent one to make the job comfortable, but do they require a certain standard?)

\- what is the average hourly wage?

\- is there a minimum amount of hours that i need to be available?

\- can i go online/offline whenever i want? (do i need to stay online for a certain amount of time?)

\- how much japanese do i need to know? i’m about n3-n2 level and very confident with talking to anyone

\- where is a good place to be to get orders?

Thank you very much in advance!

  1. As far as I’m aware, Uber is still not hiring foreigners, since sometime late last year? https://www.uber.com/jp/en/deliver/getting-started/

    > (Please note that, in some parts of Japan, we are temporarily suspending activations of new delivery partners who are not Japanese citizens. We apologize for any inconvenience.)

And if you’re a student, they stopped doing those hires @ october 2021 as well.

  2. Try Demaekan, I think their pay is better but I am not sure.

The pay of Uber Eats where pretty bad for me, I really don’t recommend.
