I’ve been putting together a CoE application for the Long-Term Resident visa (Nikkei sansei). I have the koseki, I have all my documentation, everything. Some of the subjective bits of the application have me a bit worried, though.
I guess my biggest concern is, how important is my employment situation to the application? I do remote work (IT), and depending on circumstances, might end up doing part-time or contract work by the time I’m applying. I also do not have a bachelor’s degree.
That aside, should I pay a lawyer 15万円 to do my CoE application properly? In theory it satisfies all the criteria, but there might be some things I don’t know / aren’t documented. I might have to go there personally to apply, so the opportunity costs of doing so are significant.
