Hey peeps,
I\`ve been living in Tokyo for the past few years and I\`ve managed to travel to most of the major cities and hotspots during my time here. I\`ve decided to return to Canada before summer and my last remaining Japan bucket list item is to do a scenic road trip through the inaka.
My friend drives and we were thinking of taking a train outside of the city then renting a car and exploring. We\`re leaning towards travelling north short of Hokkaido as that area is not as regularly travelled as the south.
Does anyone have any recommendations of routes, or have any road trip guides they could recommend? We would like to avoid as many big cities as possible and stick to more quaint small towns and villages if possible.
