Hello experienced travellers, as the title suggests I’ll be travelling with small children during Golden Week (a 3 year old and 9 month old).
I’ve read prior posts that recommend I take either a regular line or a private train line instead of a Shinkansen. I want to take the Shinkansen (and yes I know it will be more expensive) because I can reserve my seats in advance and that may be useful for a toddler who may be grumpy/tired etc and not crammed together and standing for 50 minutes.
I understand that the regular JR trains come often but I would expect during golden week that it will be busy as hell.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this route during golden week?
