firstly I hope it is okay to post here as it’s not exactly tourism/travel related, but not quite about living in Kyoto either…
I saw some bats flying around the outside steps/escalator area around Kyoto Station leading to the 11F restaurant area last night.
from my readings, there are so many bat species in Kyoto, and I couldn’t get a close look (to see their defining features) last night.
they seemed more (light) brown coloured than grey, but this could be due to the bright lights. I would guess they are about the size of an adult’s hand. I didn’t hear any chirps or squeaks.
could anyone here narrow down what their species might be?
