Hi, I am in Japan now.
We have the Kansai- Hiroshima Area Pass.
I booked it online on JR West website. We are from the UK.
We had to queue for over 45 minutes to collect the passes at Kyoto station as the green machine did not want to read the chip on my passport.
My question is how do you use the green machines to reserve seats on the Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima Shinkansen?
I saw some instructions on the Klook site, but they are old and the onscreen options are completely different. Each option required to scan a QR code which I don’t have. I already have the passes and used them to get to Osaka. There was no option to insert the passes to reserve seats.
Again we had to wait in line to see an agent. This worked fine and we have just arrived in Hiroshima but will need to reserve for the return journey.
I would rather use the machine to save the agents to handle other bigger customer queries.
Is it actually possible?
