Throwaway account, but important question.
Im considering naturalization, with all the changes coming to My number (combining licenses, health insurance AND visa) I would rather be able to not have all my personal info laid out for some random city employee. Im not planning on going back to where I was born, been living here nearly 15 years now, 2 kids, business and spouse, BUT, ever the pragmatist, my birth country allows dual citizenship, but Japan doesn’t. I’d have to give up one for the other, which again, i’m fine with, but if i were to ever want my birth country citizenship back would it be possible? Has anyone known anyone; or themselves gone through this process?
For reference, New Zealander. Children already have citizenship by descent.
