Hi All,
I have a teen daughter who has an expired UK passport with Japanese first name and my (UK father) surname, eg Masako Smith.
My daughters Japanese passport has Japanese first name and Mothers family name, eg Masako Hashimoto
The UK government in all their wisdom/arrogance has decided hat the name on both should match [as per here](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/names-aligning-names-on-foreign-documents/names-aligning-names-on-foreign-documents-accessible)
There are some situations listed for exceptions. Has anyone successfully applied for an exception and did you need to provide any extra documentation?
We plan to make a trip to the UK in December, so it will be easier with a UK passport.
Many Thanks
