My partner and I are headed to Japan for two weeks starting next weekend!
1) We have 3 nights in Kyoto, staying in Downtown Kyoto near Nishiki Market. I’m a bit worried about all the coverage lately of how over-touristed Kyoto is! Any suggestions for regions/places to go that won’t be overrun by tourists? Or other suggestions for making the most of it?
2) I’d LOVE to see Katsura villa, but the online reservations are sold out for the days we’re there. I’ve also read in guidebooks that you **can** get tickets in person day-of, until they sell out. Is that true if it appears \*already\* sold-out online? (i.e. are there some tickets reserved for in-person only?)
