I’m currently in a bit of a bind with the Japan Embassy’s (New Delhi, India) visa processing for my student visa, and I’m wondering if anyone else is facing a similar situation or has any advice to share.
Here’s the rundown:
• I applied to a Japanese Language School in Tokyo and received the COE (Certificate of Eligibility) from Japan Immigration on Feb 21, 2024.
• I submitted my application for the student visa through VFS New Delhi, India on March 05, 2024. They said the processing time would be 4-5 working days.
• On March 27th, I was contacted by VFS requesting an additional document, which I provided on the same day.
• Since then, there has been complete radio silence from both VFS and the Japan Embassy.
The stressful part is that my school is scheduled to start on April 10th, and I still haven’t received my visa. It’s been well over a month since I applied, and despite my attempts to reach out via email and phone calls, there’s been no response from the embassy. And VFS said that they can’t do anything about it.
Is anyone else finding themselves in a similar predicament? It’s frustrating to be on the verge of missing the start of my session due to delays beyond my control.
