Itinerary check: 7 nights trip Tokyo – Kyoto during Golden Week

Hi everyone,

Me and a friend are going to Japan at the end of April and I would appreciate it if you took a look at our Itinerary.

29/4
18:35: Arrival at Narita Airport. We have booked transport for the hotel (Ueno area) after we buy our IC cards and withdraw some yen from the ATM. The rest of the evening we will visit Ueno Park, Senso-ji and Tokyo Sky Tree

30/4
We head straight to take the Shinkansen, at 9am, for Kyoto. We leave our luggage at the hotel and the rest of the day we visit Kiyomizu-Dera, Hokan-ji, Gion, Higashiyama Jisho-ji, Pontocho Alley and Nishiki Market. Then back to hotel.

1/5
We visit Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Rengeoin Temple and Fushimi Inari Taisha.

2/5
Day trip to Osaka to visit Osaka Castle and Universal Studios. If we have time, we do Shitennoji and/or Dotonbori

3/5
We take the Shinkansen at 9am back to Tokyo, go to the hotel and then visit Edo Castle Ruins and Akihabara (maybe catch a Sumo match if we figure out how)

4/5
We visit Shibuya and Shinjuku area (Meji Temple, Harajuku, Gyoen Park, Omoide Yokocho and Kabukicho)

5/5
We visit Gundam Statue, TeamLab Planets (do we need reservations?) and then maybe Roppongi for a drink

6/5
We visit Akihabara to grab some souvenirs maybe and in the afternoon we head to the airport for the flight back.

Do you think the above is feasible or is it too packed? Anything we should know about that we haven’t thought of? And lastly, any recommendations for food? (Note that my friend is highly allergic to fish so we have to be extra careful).

Thanks in advance for any info!
