New life in Kiba as a wife and remote worker – couple of questions

we are DINK and we just moved to koto-kun from a busy ward (city center). previous apartment is so tiny but location is really great. 5 – 10 mins walk to coffee shops, shopping mall, restaurants etc. i used to do my work in coffee shops and eat out everyday.

now that we moved to koto-ku, we now have a spacious apartment, now with decent working space that i dont have to work in coffee shops, nice kitchen etc. however its far from everything. i need to go by bicycle just to go to the nearest train station, supermarket, coffee shop etc. given this situation, i decided to cook meals on a daily basis.

since our rent costs became doubled, i thought that i can save money with cooking our meals. but even though i do grocery in a cheap supermarket (iki iki, near toyocho station) cost per meal is still more expensive than eating out. is it just me or is it really cheaper to eat out?
eating out on a daily basis is not eating in the restaurants, im talking about saizerya, matsuya, hotto motto, chinese obento and the likes.
im curious to know if you cook your family meals everyday or just buy obento outside?

random question, is it really a lot windier in koto-ku than other wards? or its just me.

and what to do for fun in koto-ku? are there international meetups? coworking spaces etc.?
hows koto ward activities/programs for foreign residents? working from home alone is getting boring

would love to hear your advices, stories etc…. esp if you are living in koto or a previous resident. thank u

Edited:
– i kept saying kiba but what i really mean is koto-ku
– DINK means Dual Income No Kids
