Hi all, I’ve been planning this trip for quite some time, and would love feedback and thoughts! I’ll be there toward the end of August. I’ve got most of the core big activities I’m interested in doing sorted, and am really looking for advice on if this is a solid itinerary, or might be too ambitious. When I have time to explore certain spots, I’m really looking for anything fashion (new or vintage), video games, and thrifting spots (such as Hard Off).
Day 1 –
Arrive at hotel around 6-7pm, grab dinner, and check out neighborhood/try to visit Tokyo Skytree if there’s time.
Day 2 –
Spend morning exploring Akihabara, grab brunch at Pokemon Cafe, go to matinee of musical at Shiki Theatre HARU. Afterwards, grab food, then go to Yomiuri Giants game at Tokyo Dome.
Day 3 – Start morning at Studio Ghibli museum, explore Harajuku, go to concert at Tokyo Garden Theater.
Day 4 –
Start morning at Ueno Park, go to Tokyo National Museum, grab food, go to concert at Tokyo Garden Theater.
Day 5 –
Take bullet train to Kyoto (leave luggage in locker at station), hike Fushimi Inari, grab lunch, and visit Nintendo Museum (if open). Take train to Osaka, check-in to hotel, and relax/find a good bar for the evening.
Day 6 –
Go to Universal Japan, take a nap at hotel, see musical in evening (undecided what yet).
Day 7 –
Take bullet train back to Tokyo, grab lunch/last minute exploring (flight isn’t until evening).
