Itinerary Check – 3 Days in Kyoto

[I have an itinerary lined up for a 12 day trip to Japan that the great people of this subreddit reviewed](https://www.reddit.com/r/JapanTravel/comments/1buewmz/itinerary_help_12_days_firsttime_in_japan_tokyo/), where I got most of it sorted out (for Osaka and Tokyo) for our party of 4.

Kyoto is giving me trouble though as it’s the one with the most dense things to see, so having a proper order of where to go for it makes it more efficient and better pathed.

Much appreciated for all the help.

# KYOTO

**Day 1**

*Morning:* Transit to Kyoto from Tokyo

*Noon:* Drop bags @ Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jokyoji (or in those station coin ones if hotel doesn’t accept early)

*Afternoon*: Nintendo Museum* (if open), Tenryu-Ji, Kinkaku-Ji, Ryoan-Ji, Ninna-Ji, Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka

*Evening:* Pontocho Alley / Gion walk-through

**Day 2**

*Morning:* Kichi Kichi Omurice Reservation, Fushimi Inari

*Noon*: Kiyomizudera (better at night?) , Philosopher’s Path

*Afternoon*: Ginkaku-Ji, Kodai-Ji

*Evening*: Kiyamachi Dori / Pontocho Alley (anywhere else we could go to experience nightlife/bars/etc)

**Day 3**

*Morning*: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Iwatayama Monkey Park

*Noon:* Nishiki Market, ???? (what more can be done)

*Afternoon:* Transit to Osaka, Check in @ 3PM (maybe can request for late if there’s more to do in Kyoto for this day), Candeo Hotels Osaka Shinsaibashi

Wouldn’t mind revamping the itinerary to make for a seamless experience, and avoiding back and forths where possible. I know of other highlights like Heian Shrine, Nijo-jo, The Imperial Palace, Nanzen-ji, etc.
Nothing is necessarily set in stone for Kyoto in terms of temples, so open to modifications.

THANKS!
