What’s the deal with Saxo? Will others follow?

I just saw that Saxo only takes a 0.088% commission for trades in US securities. I’d much rather pay an extra 0.176% spread than an extra 1% spread like Rakuten/SBI/Monex are charging.

How is Saxo? Assuming I want to invest in US ETFs approved in Japan inside a Tokutei account, get the usual XML for the eTax prep tool in January, not use any margin, and pay low fees, is it a good choice?

More importantly maybe, am I being unreasonable if I hope this will put some pressure on the others to lower their US fees?

How is Interactive Brokers Japan, by the way (not LLC) ? Do they take a commission for US ETFs?
