Study my Fine Arts Master in Global Arts at Geidai

Hi there,
I am a young uprising artist from Switzerland and thinking about coming to Tokyo to study a Master of Fine Arts in Global Arts since 6 months.

The main reasons for me to come to Tokyo is the curriculum of the master, that is unique and focused on bringing different cultural backgrounds together and finding a way to work symbiotic besides the cultural differences. This is a general topic in my art practice.
Furthermore I would like to get into a completely different context from the western perspective, but still being placed in a university that is known. And finally I am very interested in the Japanese culture, language and how the systems/ infrastructures are built in Tokyo.

Usually I visit schools before my application. In arts it is very important that the vibe between school/students/teacher match. Unfortunately I cant find any direct email of a professor and the admission office told me, that a visit beforehand is not possible. Now I am in this situation, where I am not 100% sure, if I should apply without any real experience of the school or the Tokyo art scene. Still I feel a certain pull to Tokyo and this complete change of context.

If someone would like to share some feedback, I may be able to clear my intuition and I would appreciate it! The studies are completely in English., but some people shared the opinion, that if you are not able to speak Japanese, it will be really aly difficult to get in deeper touch with the people or the art scene. (A challenge I accept)
