Better off study for grads in CS or get job experience?

Hi!

I am interested in moving to Tokyo and working as an software engineer. I have bachelor degree in English linguistics and already work on a current job right now at my home country. However, I want to challenge myself, change my careers and learn new things and I want to do my new endeavour in Japan. (yeah Japan has a special place on me)

I am considering applying for Master’s program in English at top 10 universities in Japan, both for networking for future jobs and both for learning new knowledge. However, with all the available resources, I also consider that I should better off learning at my home country and make good portfolios and apply for tech companies in Japan.

Both above-mentioned options are 50-50 to me. As I actually have a job and make money, I am not sure if I can give up everything and live broke student life. At the same time, without any relevant academic degree, I doubt that my knowledge foundation on my field and my career ladder would be impacted.

I am really appreciate any helpful advice from those who used to have any experience in this situation!!
