I’ve searched similar threads on this subreddit but would appreciate any insight – I will be moving to Japan this July for work and need to replace my phone as I’ve been using a family member’s ancient Samsung since September. I know that Japan uses Apple quite a bit but I’ve always been an Android user and really would prefer not to switch if possible (I’m not too fussed about not being able to use the Suica pass etc on my phone). I would also prefer to buy my phone before coming to Japan to give me some time to get used to it rather than purchasing it in Japan. With that being said, are there any recommended Android models which users have experienced bringing with them to Japan and been able to use without issue? For example, I had originally been looking at buying a Google Pixel 7 until I saw a number of threads on reddit from people complaining about connectivity issues with Pixels bought outside of Japan. At the moment I am looking at the OnePlus Nord 3 5g – does anyone have any experience with using this particular phone in Japan?
