Late on Year end tax return – will my PR application be rejected?

Hi,

I know there have been similar posts about this topic in the past, but every situation is different so here goes…

Currently on 5-year partner visa. I had to supplement my year end tax return (確定申告 ) at a fairly high amount as I had failed to correctly account for RSU’s issued by my company. I figured this out quickly for 2023, but then had to do the same for 2022 which means I was 1 year+ late. But I did this on my own- no investigation on tax office’s part. Other than that, my employer pays all my taxes but residence tax which I’ve been paying timely AFAIK. Otherwise I should score 80-90 points for highly skilled visa, have a house + mortgage and Japanese wife + kids. Should I:

1) just apply for it whenever and hope for the best.

2) do my tax return properly next year and then apply (would this matter much?)

3) get a lawyer to maximize my chances
