Are they pure volcanic spring water or are they chlorinated etc? I struggle to imagine how there can be so many onsens within hotels and leisure centres here but they still be natural? A lot look like swimming pools in the UK.
I’d really like to visit a 100% pure and natural outdoor hot spring somewhere near Kyoto/ Otsu area … are there any?
