What’s your biggest “Yacchatta jiken” (TIFU) of your time living in Japan?

I’ll go first:

I had to interpret for a big important meeting between the CEO of our main Tokyo office and the CEOs of our US and European offices.

The meeting(s) were to take place about 15 minutes after work started and last for hours almost all day.

I had a power outage and my alarm clock reset, causing me to be 3 hours late for work.

It followed me for at least 3-6 months… I was 24 at the time, 2nd year out of college. My douki tried to cheer me up but I was super depressed about it for at least a month.
