I’m a US citizen, and I used to have an Interactive Brokers account with the US-based branch (IBKR LLC). But last year when they asked all Japan-residents to migrate to the Japan subsidiary (IBSJ) I closed my account.
I was thinking about signing up for an IBSJ account now (I heard you can access a lot of the major US ETF’s and avoid PFICs, etc). But I was wondering if IBSJ provides the US Tax forms (1099 etc) at the beginning of the year?
Does anyone have an IBSJ account and knows?
(Or, even any general advice on how IBSJ worked for you as a US citizen is welcome!)
