A look at how much recent young lions wrestled while on excursion

I was recently thinking about the NJPW and the guys who recently went on excursion and wondered how often they were wrestling. That led me down a rabbit hole and I ended up comparing some of the most recent excursions.

Wrestler(s)| Matches | Months | M/M
—|—|—-|—-
Sho & Yoh| 79 | 19 mo. | 4.2
Jay White| 73 | 16 mo. | 4.6
Hiromu Takahashi| 206 | 40 mo. | 5.1
Master Wato| 167 | 23 mo. | 7.3
Shota Umino| 62 | 22 mo. | 2.8
Ren Narita| 51 | 18 mo. | 2.8
Yota Tsuji| 107| 21 mo. | 5.1
Yuya Uemura| 95 | 25 mo. | 3.8
Ryuhei Oiwa| 59 | 6 mo. | 9.8
Nakashima & Leube| 7 | 1 mo. | 7

Numbers from cagematch, which might not have every match they all wrestled, but probably close to. Also I may have messed up math on some of these while counting them up, but hopefully it is not too off the mark.

Oiwa matches include World Tag League since it is during his excursion period. If you take those out, it is still an average of seven matches a month.

I’ll have more speculation and thoughts in the comments, but I thought it was interesting to see how little the recent wave of lions wrestled compared to the previous one.
