Had a really bad experience with a Japanese guy whom I barely knew.

I am an international student in Japan. I attended a Christmas party last year in which I met people from many colleges. Two of the guys I met were from a university that doesn’t has a very good reputation. Let’s call them A and B. Both of them asked me out for lunch after the party. A cancelled at the last moment because he got COVID and we never talked again. I met B for lunch and from that meeting itself he started acting like my boyfriend which I found strange so I confronted him about it. He said he wants only a serious relationship and he likes my personality. I still told him that I don’t know him enough to get in a relationship with him so we decided to stay as friends. He then went abroad for a month, we planned to meet once he comes back but he stopped texting me. It was understandable because he was studying all the time but I felt hurt when he didn’t contact me after coming back so I confronted him.

He said that A told him that he saw me on Hello talk, according to him In my dp I was wearing sexy clothes so I must be meeting men on Hello talk to sleep with them. My dp is just a selfie, my clothes are not completely visible. A and B are best friends and when B told me about this I was so shocked, paranoid and angry that not only he made such assumptions about me but he also told that bs to his friends.

I decided to not speak to B also ever again because I don’t think I can trust him anymore.

What are your thoughts in this situation? I am getting paranoid about dating any Japanese person or even getting to know them as friends after this happened.
