I am currently working in Kansai and now job hunting. The new job will most likely be in Tokyo. In my home country it is not uncommon that if you take a new job and have to relocate for it that the employer pays for (part of) the relocation if it is a big company. As far as I know it is not common in Japan but want to ask nonetheless if anyone had their relocation within Japan paid by their employer during a job change? Is this something that can be negotiated? I am mostly interviewing with large 外資系. My hope is that if it’s possible at all, then with these companies.
