I have, just this minute, finished going through Remembering The Kanji, book 1 – learning new cards, that is – and I just wanted to share the sense of relief and a little bit of achievement I’ve got from that. I know there’s a load of reviews ahead, but at least they’ll settle down now and I can get back to reading (studied for six months before starting RTK; been doing mostly just RTK for three months but keeping some reading/listening going to try and not forget stuff), I think it’ll be nice knowing that I’ve at least seen all the kanji in beginner material/non-names before.
Would be interested to hear people’s experiences after finishing a dedicated kanji study period – but as we all know this journey can be a lonely one so I wanted to share this with people who’ll understand. I’ve read some good advice on here, and honestly just reading about other people’s questions, suggestions, trials and tribulations has helped keep me going, so thanks 🙂
