Help with scleral contact lenses in Japan

Hi everyone

I need a little help with finding a preservative free saline solution to use with my contact lenses.

Before anyone asks, I wear scleral RGP (rigid gas permeable) lenses because I have keratoconus and it’s the only thing that works for me. If anyone wants more information on what they are/how they work, here is a link to WebMD, [https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/what-to-know-about-scleral-contact-lenses](https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/what-to-know-about-scleral-contact-lenses) I hope it works.

I currently live near Asahikawa in Hokkaido and until now I have been using LensPlus OcuPure [https://static.chemistwarehouse.com.au/ams/media/pi/83438/F2D\_200.jpg](https://static.chemistwarehouse.com.au/ams/media/pi/83438/F2D_200.jpg) , which I have had a small stockpile of through visiting friends and family, however I am getting to the point where I need to find something over here. There are a handful of saline rinses that I have seen but nothing that specifies ‘preservative free’ or ‘for use with scleral contacts’ and in my experience using them for the last 15 years the irritation caused by some salines matters.

I know I can use the small 50-100ml single use containers by they get real expensive very quick at about 5 to 10 times the price depending on what I could get in Australia.

I have looked for optometrists/ophthalmologists that deal with scleral contacts here in Japan to see if I can get some help but from what I am finding there is very few who deal with them (or even know what they are) and the ones I have found are in Tokyo, which is not a huge help for me.

If anyone has any info they can pass on, I would be very appreciative.
