1. Live where in Japan? The cost of living varies greatly.

2. Are you single? Do you have a wife and kids to support? Hobbies? There are many different factors you need to consider. If you’re single, living outside of Tokyo and don’t have much of a social life and don’t buy a lot of stuff then I would say you’d want to be making at least 160,000yen a month to get by comfortably.
