So we will be in Tokyo next week and want to play it by-the-day when it comes to planning this day trip. AKA if the weather is good, then we will sporadically do this day-trip from Shinjuku (where we are staying).
My main question is, is it possible to book the fuji express bus sporadically in the morning for that same day? Also, if I can’t get the bus for the same day, are there any good alternatives that let me do that same day?
My flexible itinerary is the following:
* Wake up 8 AM, check the livestream for good weather and clear fuji view
* 9:30 AM Take Fuji Express Bus from Shinjuku Express Bus Terminal (1 hr 45 mins)
* Arrive at 11:15 AM
* Spend 2 hours there exploring
* Leave at 1:15 PM
* Take 1:15 Fujikyuko Line to Pagoda
* Arrive at Shimoyoshida Station and walk to Pagoda
* Arrive at Pagoda at 2 PM
* Spend 30 mins at Pagoda
* Walk back to Chuodo Shimoda Yoshida Bustop
* Take Busta shinjuku (13 stops) to shinjuku express bus terminal (1.5 hrs)
* Arrive at 5 PM in Shinjuku
I know its a busy day, but at least seems manageable, and we really want to see the lake/pagoda when cherry blossoms are in bloom!
