I’m planning to go to Japan with some friends next year, and though I don’t have an itinerary formed just yet, I want to take a trip on an overnight train. I’ve heard of sunrise seto and sunrise izumo, but I don’t really know many others. I know there are some “cruise” ones as well but I really have no preference.
Has anyone been on these sleeper trains before? Are they worth the time and price? I’m more interested in the journey than the actual destination (though I’d work my schedule around where I’d end up), so any recommendations? I’d most likely purchase a more private room than the nobi nobi, as reference.
