Budget check + Itinerary advice

A friend and I are going to travel to Japan next month. For those who have been to Japan recently, how much should we expect to spend on a three week vacation? For reference, we’re a party of two and not afraid to spend a little extra for a better experience (within reason, of course). To make things easier, I’ve thrown together a quick itinerary with a bunch of the things on our radar. We’re definitely not going to be able to do all of them, but these should give you a good idea of our plans. We’ve already booked the flight and all of the hotels so you don’t have to take those into consideration. Also, if you have any opinions on our choice of activities/locations please let me know!

May 17: Arrive in Narita.

* If we have time and/or if we’re feeling up for it, check out the Omotesando Shopping district and Narita Temple.

May 18-20: Tokyo

We have a TON of things that caught our eyes here. This list would get way too long if we included everything so I’ll leave this one be. If anyone would like to share a cool location/activity, we’ll be staying in Shinjuku for reference. 🙂

May 21-22: Hiroshima

* Miyajima
* Peace Museum
* Hiroshima castle

May 23-28 Osaka (Also Nara and Kobe)

* Nara Park
* Nara temples
* Osaka Castle
* Den-Den Town
* Parco Shinsaibashi
* Osaka Aquarium
* Universal Studios + Super Mario World
* Cool themed bars (still doing research)
* Umeda Sky building
* Round 1 stadium
* Kobe beef in Kobe

May 29-31: Kyoto

* Kyoto Imperial Palace
* Kinkaku-ji Temple
* Arashiyama Bamboo forest
* Kimono Forest

June 1-2: Nagoya

* Nagoya Castle
* Osu Kannon
* Tokugawa Park
* Osu Shotengai Shopping District
* Dondoko Forest

June 3: Fujiyoshida

* Narusawa Ice Caves
* Honcho Street
* Oishi Park

June 4-7: Tokyo

Back to Tokyo! This time we’re staying in Shibuya and Akihabara. Again, there are lots of things to do here. Please feel free to give some suggestions!
