I have hayfever and I’m allergic to both Japanese cedar (sugi) and Japanese cypress (hinoki).
The cedar mostly causes itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, but it never really causes throat issues.
About two days ago, I have noticed that my throat feels dry and a little itchy. It also feels like I can’t clear it even when I drink water.
I’m not sure, but I think it might be from pollen from Japanese cypress (hinoki) because I’m allergic to that too and I know the cypress trees are starting to germinate.
Can anyone with hayfever in Japan confirm if this sounds like a hayfever symptom from cypress or something else?
P.S. Even my chin has started itching a few days ago.
