Moved to Japan – Solution to IC card?

Hey, I moved to Tokyo few days ago and Im having trouble with finding a solution to IC card for the trains. I have a non-Japanese Android and so can’t add to my Google wallet and I heard the Pasmo Passport and Hello a Suica are expired after 28 days.

Is there a way to get a physical IC card that won’t expire? Or a way to add to my google wallet that you know of? Thank you!

  1. You can find ICOCA on Mercari for around 1100, might cost less than taking the train around to find one if you include the 500 deposit.

  2. Can’t you buy commuter passes still? If you know your route from work/school that’s the best option IMO.
