My wife and I are visiting Japan for our second time later this year, last time we stayed around Tokyo so got to see a lot of things there so this time we would plan to spend some time in Kyoto/Osaka. This is is a ball park itinerary we have come up with, open to suggestions:
October 27th: Arrive in Tokyo, we are thinking we stay in Shinjuku area again as it was fairly easy to navigate around/get trains from there. We will likely just wander around the area and grab some food due to flight times
October 28th: My wife really wants to visit Disney Sea so that basically takes up the day
October 29th: Spend the morning walking around, I would like to visit the imperial palace as we missed it last time. Then catch an afternoon bullet train to Kyoto
October 30th: Spend the day walking around Kyoto, I want to see Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-Dera and Kinkaku-Ji (not necessarily all in one day)
October 31st: Jump on a train to Hiroshima to visit the dome and possibly Miyajima
November 1st: More exploring of Kyoto area in the morning/evening and an afternoon trip to Nara to see the gardens/deer
November 2nd: Catch a train to Osaka, my wife wants to find some markets and try the street food there
November 3rd: Explore Osaka including Osaka castle visit
November 4th: Travel day back to Tokyo, possibly do the robot restaurant on the evening (enjoyed it last time)
November 5th: Last full day, plan is to wander around the area again, do any last minute shopping and potentially stop by the Harry Potter studio tour for a couple of hours
November 6th: Leave Japan
Open to recommendations or suggested changes, main focus is cultural/historical points. I did originally plan to have a day around Fuji but due to having narrow down the time we could spend there I’m not sure it’s possible now unfortunately.
