Luggage Solutions During My Move to Japan

I’m moving to Japan in a couple weeks. Typically I travel light, but given the circumstances I really can’t travel as light as I’d like. I’ve got a big suitcase with all my work related uniforms and a few personal belongings that I’m trying to keep under 30kg for shinkansen/shipping purposes. A medium sized backpack with the stuff I’ll need from day to day (toiletries and clothing) and a small backpack I’ll be using as my day pack to walk around with.
I know that the usual advice is to pack light, but I can’t. I’m about as light as I can get. I imagine I’ll need to take advantage of a combination of storage lockers and shipping services like Yamato. If I used a shipping service for my less important items in the big suitcase and have it shipped from Tokyo to Fukuoka (which is where my final hotel will be a couple weeks after I arrive) can I specify a delivery date? Maybe call the hotel ahead of time and let them know? Does anybody have any creative solutions for this?
I’ve done quite a bit of research on this, but since I’ve never utilized these types of services before it’d be nice to get some advice from someone who’s been there and done that. Thanks for your help!
