I’m traveling to Japan at the end of the month. I’ve been told by many that having a Suica pass (specifically one loaded onto your phone) is important, both for getting around Tokyo and for other rail lines. I specifically know that one trip I’m taking from Osaka to Kyoto can use a Suica pass.
However, I seem to have run into a total blocker. As of this posting, it seems tourists can only purchase a Welcome Suica card at Haneda airport. My partner is flying in there, but I’m arriving in Narita. As far as I can tell, that basically leaves me with no option to purchase a Suica card.
Hoping someone here can give advice or alternatives that I haven’t found in my research.
