Hi, I’m a Peruvian law student currently studying in the Netherlands. I was checking my options for an LLM and since my partner is Japanese, I was wondering if it would be a viable option to pursue a law masters in Japan. Kyushu and Waseda English thought LLM seems interesting (especially since it’s considerably cheaper than an llm in the Netherlands). My concern is the employability after completing my education. I’m most likely pointing to an In-house or commerce law position since it’s my area of interest for the moment. But how is the legal job market like in Japan? Btw, I’m optimistic enough to think that I can manage to get an N2 before searching for a job. My main concerns are:
– Salary (I know it’s a difficult question)
– career progression (especially since in case I decide to take a Japanese llm, I will not be able to qualify as a lawyer)
– would it be possible for me to find a job?
Thank you in advance 🙂
