Hokkaido in the Summer

Hey everyone, we’re going to visit Hokkaido (and Tokyo) from June 1-10. I just wanted to ask some questions to make our trip more optimal.

* Is Furano worth visiting at the start of June? From the posts/websites that I’ve read, peak lavender season is in July, but we could possibly make it to early bloom when we visit?
* I can’t find too much shots of Noboribetsu Onsen in the summer, does the town still maintain its charm during off-season? Is summer a good time for visiting an onsen, or does it get too hot?
* I have a similar question about Asahiyama Zoo, are most of the winter animals still there during the summer?
* We’ll be visiting Sapporo, Otaru, Noboribetsu, Furano/Biei, and Asahiyama. Would you recommend any other locations/events that may be worth visiting?
* As for Tokyo, we have one free/unplanned day, do you guys have any unusual recommendations in the city or in the towns nearby?

Any suggestion or opinion will be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🙂
