Can I learning Japanese even though I don’t have at all a good memory

I have a really bad memory and can only remember very few if none part of my day like yesterday I can only remember that I went to school and nothing else I don’t remember what has been said to me or what I have said to others. So I am wondering how can I learn Japanese because I am really interested in the culture and the language. Also I have heard were people pictured it in their mind and I can’t do that because I can’t seem to picture things in my mind it is basically just like I am speaking but in my mind. I want to learn Japanese so that one day I can travel and like there and be able to watch anime and be able to read manga because it just feels wrong to watch a anime in English and to read manga in english so I want to be able to watch/read in Japanese.

  1. It appears you retained the use of the English language after learning it. So I assume you would be able to learn Japanese as well.

    Edit: changed a word

  2. Try diving into memory techniques. You’d be amazed at how our mind works. You just need to figure out what style works for you. And actually if you use apps, they already incorporate some of it.

I for one considered myself bad at memorizing when I was in school. But it turns out I’m just bad at memorizing stuff that does not interest me. What I found that works for me so far is spaced repetition. Just repeat the task daily. That’s how I memorize how to read and write kanji.

  3. Are you doing something that is affecting your memory? Sleeping poorly? Are you on medication? No offense but remembering literally nothing that happened at school isn’t normal.
