Hi all,
I recently applied for PR(spouse route). Where I am, it takes about 4 months to get a result. Today, after about a month, I received a letter asking for documents that prove I was actually exempt from pension payments from when I first arrived in Japan. My wife was also exempted since we had low/no income for quite a number of months. According to the nenkin printout, which was sent back to me by the immigration office, I was fully exempted for 41 months and 3/4 exempted for 12 months. The immigration officer has highlighted this on the printout, so I assume these are what she wants to see.
Does anyone know what documents I need to provide for this? The letter doesn’t specify. In fact, the letter says that if I haven’t been exempted during the last two years, which is the case, I don’t need to submit the documents.(I started paying full pension about 2.5 years ago now )
I had a look on the nenkin net website, and it seems I can access each month’s pension statement. For the 41 months of full exemption, it states that on each month, and so to for the 3/4 exemption months. If these docs are what she wants, I can print all of them out, but that’s 53 pages worth… It just seems odd given that the nenkin printout already officially states I was exempted..
The letter also states I need to print out the nenkin net monthly pension payment page and send it. I actually did this to begin with, but I think it’s because I didn’t use the nenkin net’s ‘print’ button on the righthand side, so the format might not have been what is needed.
Thanks in advance.
