1. even if it doesn’t work online just buy them from any terminal when you get there
4. if tabelog or omakase or whatever you’re using to reserve requires a japanese number just use your hotel number
5. prepare for a lot of walking
1. especially if you’re visiting a temple or shrine those things can be far apart
2. and if you’re traveling during peak hours don’t expect a seat on the bus or train
6. 7/11 is most reliable for cash
