Me and a friend are planning a trip from 3/28/23 to 4/6/23 where we will be visiting tokyo, fijinomiya, kyoto, and hiroshima….. some of the things i am most excited for are seeing edo period sights, visiting shirnes, and going to anime/manga related locations…. this trip will definitely feel rushed with little downtime but it was planned this way due to the limited time we where able to get off work…. below is the rough itinerary and I wanted to know people’s thoughts on it:
*All travel will be public transport utilizing a Japan Rail Pass (green car)
3/28:
– land at hidina roughly around 1600
– visit the nearby Gundam Base near Teamlab borderless
– head to Akihabra where we will be spending the next two nights
3/29:
– explore Akihabra electric Town in the morning
– arrive at studio Ghibli museum at roughly noon
– return to Akihabra and go to Ueno Park and senjo-ji
– finish exploring Akihabra electric Town and go shopping
3/30:
– edo castle/imperial palace tour
– chidorigafuchi Park
– hie jinja shrine
– Tsukiji outer market
– stay in hotel in shinjuku two nights
3/31:
– Tokyo dome attractions
– samuri museum
– shinjuku gyoen national garden
– meiji jingu
4/1:
– train to fujinomiya
– Mt. Fuji World Heritage center
– shira-ito waterfall
– yamamiya shrine
4/2:
– train to Kyoto
– kiyomizu-dera temple
– Hokan-ji temple
– taishogun shopping Street
– Kurama onsen (lodging package)
4/3:
– international manga museum
– Nijojo castle
– samuri/ninja museum
– gekkeikan sake village
– nishiki market
– stay two nights in downtown Kyoto
4/4:
– Kyoto imperial palace
– Arashiyama monkey park
– Rokuon-ji temple
– more shopping
4/5:
– Train to hiroshima
– shukkeien garden
– hiroshima castle
– hiroshima orizuru tower
– national peace memorial and museum
– hijiyama park
– hotel in downtown hiroshima
4/6:
– early train to narita airport for flight at roughly 1830
Much of this list is still in early planning and I welcome input on anything from dinning options in each area to additional tourist attractions, or if you think the order these place are visited should be rearranged.
